Overview

This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen working environment, including equipment and utensils. It also supports food preparation tasks and promotes alignment with the core mission and values of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

• Scrape and pre-rinse food debris from dirty dishes before loading them into the dishwasher (approximately 50% of duties).
• Wash pots, pans, and trays manually or with machinery (about 15% of duties).
• Carry out all assigned food preparation tasks (10% of duties).
• Remove trash and waste materials and transport them to the dumpster (10% of duties).
• Clean work tables, walls, refrigeration units, cooking equipment, and floors (around 5% of duties).
• Sanitize garbage cans and trash receptacles (approximately 5% of duties).
• Set up, maintain, and dismantle dishwashing machines (5% of duties).
• Handle and transport cases weighing up to 50 pounds, up to 20 times daily.
• Organize plates, utensils, pans, and cases on both elevated and low shelves.
• Perform work predominantly indoors (90%) and occasionally outdoors (10%).
• Adapt to working in hot and damp conditions; respond effectively in emergency situations for safety.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Must be able to read and interpret documents including contracts and procedural manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with groups of customers or coworkers.
• Practical problem-solving skills involving concrete variables with limited standardization.
• Work entails frequent sitting, walking, talking, hearing, hand use, and reaching.
• Must withstand wet floors, temperature extremes, and noise; capable of bending, stooping, lifting dish racks up to 40 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand for extensive periods and move throughout work areas.
• Vision necessities include close vision and capacity to adjust focus.

• Must function well in team settings, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate adaptability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Work may occasionally require travel by automobile to other field locations.
