Job description
Overview
This role is for a restaurant managed by an independent franchisee licensed to use McDonald's branding and food products. The franchisee operates separately from McDonald's USA and is solely responsible for employment decisions such as hiring and scheduling. McDonald's USA does not participate in any employment process for this position.
Role Description
The General Manager is tasked with overseeing a profitable restaurant while ensuring it upholds McDonald's high standards in quality, service, and cleanliness. Working alongside their leader, the General Manager establishes goals for the restaurant and formulates strategic plans to achieve them. This position requires leadership of a team of Department Managers by assisting in goal-setting, monitoring progress, and providing coaching to enhance departmental performance, which collectively improves restaurant operations.
Additionally, the General Manager may take responsibility for recruiting and developing Department and Shift Managers to build a capable leadership team for the restaurant's future.
Candidate Profile
Ideal applicants possess previous General Manager experience in managing high volume locations. Experience in quick service restaurants is highly preferred, though backgrounds in hospitality or retail are considered relevant. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to qualify for a managerial role in corporate-owned restaurants.
