Full-Time Store Associate

Overview

Join our team as a Store Associate where you will play a key role in enhancing the shopping experience through various tasks like merchandising, stocking, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness to present the store at its best.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This is a full-time position averaging more than 30 hours weekly. The starting pay is $19.50 per hour, with increases reaching up to $21.50 by the fifth year of employment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Exemplify excellent customer service and escalate issues to management as needed.
• Report losses due to outdated or damaged stock to management.
• Use the point-of-sale system accurately and report any scanning issues.
• Follow cash handling policies stringently.
• Manage checkout lanes efficiently by opening additional lanes when busy.
• Stock shelves tidily adhering to merchandising guidelines to boost sales.
• Prepare curbside pickup orders by picking, verifying, and delivering items promptly.
• Maintain visual merchandising and store zone standards consistently.
• Assist in meeting operational and loss-prevention goals set by management.
• Comply with all company rules and procedures.
• Support a safe workplace by identifying hazards and maintaining equipment.
• Follow inventory protocols and product handling standards.
• Perform cleaning tasks to uphold company cleanliness standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, and move around as needed.
• Capable of lifting, carrying, and placing products weighing up to 45 pounds at different shelf heights.
• Operate equipment such as cash registers, pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in various temperature settings including freezers and coolers.
• Use multiple cleaning agents safely.

Qualifications

• Deliver timely and polite customer service.
• Operate store equipment including registers, cleaning machines, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers skillfully.
• Understand and apply company policies and procedures thoroughly.
• Communicate effectively in both spoken and written forms.
• Perform basic arithmetic calculations accurately.
• Follow directions closely and maintain attention to detail.
• Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to meet productivity goals within deadlines.
• Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Meet scheduling availability requirements.

Education and Experience

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail experience is desirable but not required.
