As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will collaborate directly with customer engineering teams to deploy reliable Cursor workflows that significantly enhance their software development processes. Your responsibility will encompass identifying core inefficiencies hindering teams, designing pragmatic solutions, and overseeing the entire lifecycle from initial discovery through launch, iteration, and ongoing support. This role demands real-world operational systems ownership rather than demonstration projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct discovery sessions with customer engineers to pinpoint primary blockers and establish measurable success criteria.
• Architect and implement Cursor-powered workflows such as large-scale refactoring, migrations, pull request review cycles, incident-to-fix pipelines, and specification-to-implementation pipelines.
• Deliver an initial working version rapidly within days, then enhance it into a robust, dependable system over subsequent weeks with strategic rollouts, monitoring, and iterative improvements informed by user feedback.
• Ensure production-grade quality including tracing, evaluations, metrics collection, debugging model behaviors, managing latency and cost trade-offs, and mitigating failure cases.
• Collaborate directly with senior staff, platform, and engineering leaders—balancing deep code expertise with clear communication about technical trade-offs and outcomes.
• Convert successful implementations into reusable patterns and contribute enhancements back to the core Cursor platform.

Candidate Profile

• Excels at navigating ambiguity and transforming vague challenges into well-defined scopes and delivered solutions.
• Possesses practical experience building and managing AI-native workflows in production environments, with hands-on debugging of real-world model issues.
• Confident in leading discovery dialogues and taking ownership of customer achievement.
• Experienced in end-to-end development, including frontend, backend, infrastructure, and prompt iteration as necessary.
• Demonstrated competency managing production reliability through monitoring metrics, alerting, safe rollout strategies, and incident response.
• Proficient in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript, able to quickly adapt to new technology stacks.
