Role Overview
The Calgary Construction Operations team seeks skilled Form Setters for the upcoming 2026 road construction season. The Form Setter’s role involves preparing and setting up concrete forms, reading construction blueprints and grades, and working collaboratively on-site to support road infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and layout concrete formwork according to project specifications.
- Assemble and dismantle concrete forms safely and efficiently.
- Ensure correct placement of forms by following elevation grades accurately.
- Interpret and read grades, curbs, and gutter blueprints.
- Operate hand and power tools safely in the work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with the construction crew.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience as a Form Setter within road construction is essential.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Capable of lifting weights up to 50 lbs regularly and standing or walking for extended durations.
- Effective communication skills with supervisors, team members, contractors, and the public.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license or higher and access to a personal vehicle for commuting.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as job demands require.
- Compliant with the company’s drug and alcohol policies, including testing protocols.
