Job description
Role Overview
Higgins Wellington has won a new contract with Wellington City Council for road maintenance. Consequently, they are expanding their team and looking to hire a Foreperson who will be responsible for overseeing a crew of four members.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Lead and guide a small team efficiently within the road construction and maintenance environment.
- Demonstrate hands-on assistance, supporting the crew in a wide range of operational tasks.
- Operate various civil engineering and roadwork machinery with competence.
- Be prepared to engage in an on-call roster system to support project needs as required.
Required Qualifications and Attributes
- Prior experience in road construction or maintenance activities.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate team members.
- Possess a full Class 2 Driver’s Licence and WTR (Worker Traffic Regulation) certification.
- Capability to handle different types of civil engineering and roadwork plant machinery.
- Desirable: TC Basic Certificate and First Aid qualification.
- Familiarity with the Road Asset Maintenance Management system (RAMM) is advantageous.
- Reliable, honest, and an excellent team collaborator.
