Financial Controller

Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Financial Controller to join a reputable manufacturing company based in Cardiff. This senior leadership position is pivotal in guiding the organisation's finance function and strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the UK finance department, reporting directly to the Finance Director and board members.
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior directors regarding commercial initiatives, investment evaluations, and business case development.
• Mentor and lead Finance Team Leaders, encouraging skill development and a culture of high performance.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, risk assessment, and long-term financial planning processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards including UK GAAP and IFRS, as well as SOX regulatory requirements and statutory audit protocols.
• Facilitate ongoing advancements in financial policies, system improvements, and cost-efficiency measures.

Qualifications and Skills

• Fully qualified CIMA, ACA, or ACCA professional.
• Demonstrated senior leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting and audit supervision.
• Highly proficient in MS Excel, including advanced functions such as Macros, PivotTables, and VLOOKUP.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is advantageous.
• Excellent abilities in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a competitive salary up to £80,000, a £7,000 car allowance, along with additional benefits.
