Role Overview

This role reports to the LBL Service Delivery Manager and centers on executing service work of low to medium complexity strictly following ABB's standards, quality controls, and safety protocols. Daily tasks involve planning and implementing work with a first-time right philosophy, enhancing customer satisfaction through urgency and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with on-site customers to identify opportunities for operational improvements and resolving challenges.
• Conduct field service activities including troubleshooting technical problems and performing analysis remotely or on-site across various service categories and products.
• Prepare lists of required materials ensuring availability and quality to support service operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment or process failures, propose proactive corrective measures, and recommend steps to prevent recurrence.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of industry experience with a minimum of 5 years in customer support, project, or service engineering focused on System 800xA safety systems, preferably within Oil & Gas, Power, or Water sectors.
• Extensive hands-on expertise in System 800xA integrated control and safety systems including hardware, software, and AC800M HI library application development, project execution, and commissioning.
• Solid understanding and application of Functional Safety Management Systems (FSMS); preferred certifications include TUV FS Engineer or ABB-specific safety credentials.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 61511 and IEC 61508 safety standards alongside relevant system engineering practices.
• Proficiency in industrial networking and network switch configuration.
• Experience implementing cybersecurity measures for 800xA based systems.
• Capability in industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU & TCP, OPC, etc.
• Analytical mindset, self-driven, resilient, adaptable aligning with ABB’s advanced service and digital portfolio.

Additional Information

This position contributes to PAEN-Qatar operations, working closely with PAEN stakeholders. The work model is onsite/office based.
