Job description

Oversee and monitor local operating parameters and status of equipment regularly.
Carry out routine inspections on pumps, valves, filters, membranes, chemical dosing systems, and other auxiliary machinery.
Execute plant start-up, shutdown, and equipment changeovers following prescribed operating procedures.
Accurately record operational data, readings, and noteworthy events in logs and shift reports.
Assist with process monitoring and troubleshoot operational issues when needed.

Identify and promptly report any abnormalities, leaks, vibrations, or malfunctions in equipment.
Provide support to maintenance teams during both planned and corrective maintenance activities.
Perform basic maintenance duties such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
Aid in isolating and reinstating equipment before and after maintenance work.

Collect water samples and assist with laboratory testing as required.
Monitor performance of RO membranes, pretreatment systems, chemical dosing, and water quality aspects.
Ensure the plant consistently meets production and quality objectives.

Adhere strictly to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) protocols at all times.
Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with permit-to-work standards.
Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping in operational areas.

Possess a Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process, or Water Treatment Engineering.
Typically hold 3 to 4 years of relevant practical experience in:
- RO Desalination Plants with a capacity of 50 MLD or more
- Water Treatment Plants
- Wastewater Treatment Plants
- Process Industries including chemical, power, and utilities sectors
