Overview

Bass Pro Shops is launching a new in-store restaurant and is seeking dedicated individuals passionate about food, hospitality, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The expeditor plays a vital role in ensuring that food orders are promptly prepared, correctly assembled, and presented beautifully while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely preparation and dispatch of kitchen orders by directing servers and food runners to deliver complete orders together.
• Ensure each plate is presented according to recipe standards and served at the correct temperature.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the kitchen and all associated equipment in near-new condition.
• Work at a consistent, efficient pace, staying organized and avoiding unnecessary actions.
• Meet productivity goals by balancing quality with volume of completed work within set time frames.
• Manage multiple tasks effectively to handle fluctuating workloads with strong organizational skills.
• Anticipate needs by stocking supplies ahead of busy periods or special events.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail and proactively take initiative.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and firm commitment to the standards of the Restaurant Division.
• Prioritize safe food handling practices and overall safety in the workplace.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum high school diploma; college degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant work or related experience is desirable.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficient reading and comprehension skills to understand safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Basic mathematical skills including calculations involving discounts, proportions, percentages, and geometry concepts.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities in practical, varied settings including interpreting written and verbal instructions.
• Basic computer literacy; familiarity with Point of Sale systems like Micros or Springer/Miller is advantageous.
• Team player with strong prioritization skills, a sense of urgency, and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

Physical and Environmental Conditions

• Regular standing, use of hands, reaching, talking, hearing, and frequent walking.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional crawling.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds regularly.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Work environment may include occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions and outdoor weather, with generally moderate noise levels.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting pay rate ranges from $15.92 to $20.75 per hour.
