Role Overview & Responsibilities

  • Examining and validating pre-alert documentation for all imported shipments via air and sea transport.
  • Monitoring and tracking shipment progress and statuses for air and sea consignments continuously.
  • Reviewing Customs Tariff Heading (CTH) classifications utilizing the Customs Tariff Book and official customs portal when needed for clarity.
  • Ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complies with customs laws and corporate internal protocols.
  • Compiling and updating daily shipment checklists, typically managing about 12 to 15 shipments daily.
  • Sorting and organizing documents for submission to the Filing Team for the Bill of Entry (BOE) filing process.
  • Collaborating with the Operations Team to oversee shipment movement and clearance schedules.
  • Registering and maintaining shipment status updates in the operating software or system precisely.
  • Creating and managing Meridian job records following operational standards and requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of any Bachelor's degree.
  • A solid professional background with 5 to 7 years of working experience in import documentation and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) operations.
  • Proficient understanding of customs laws, tariff codes, and the procedures involved in BOE documentation.
