Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for a meticulous Estimator to join our team in Gainesville, VA. The candidate will be responsible for precise cost assessments and preparing comprehensive estimates across a variety of projects including earthwork, grading, highway, utilities, and residential as well as commercial developments. This role is pivotal in project planning and ensuring budget accuracy, with an emphasis on creating competitive estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project specifications and drawings to ascertain necessary materials, labor, and other costs.
- Generate detailed cost projections for projects involving earthwork, grading, highways, utilities, and both residential and commercial constructions.
- Examine labor, material, and overhead expenses to establish accurate pricing models.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to collect relevant data for estimates.
- Present cost estimates and proposals to clients and other stakeholders, addressing inquiries and clarifying details.
- Track project expenditures and budgets throughout project execution and provide ongoing updates.
- Support contract negotiations with clients and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil estimating, particularly focusing on residential, commercial, and industrial sitework projects.
- In-depth understanding of construction techniques, materials, and regulatory requirements relevant to earthwork, grading, highway, utilities, residential, and commercial developments.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range: $80,000 to $110,000
