About the Role

We are actively seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to become an integral part of our well-established general contracting company. This permanent role is tailored for a motivated and detail-focused professional with significant experience in sectors including school, commercial, federal, state, or governmental construction. The Estimator will be essential in accurately forecasting project expenses, which supports strategic planning and decision-making. The position involves a fast-paced work environment demanding profound familiarity with the construction field.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare thorough and detailed cost estimates for projects across school, commercial, and government sectors.
• Analyze architectural drawings and engineering documentation to estimate required time, costs, materials, and labor.
• Evaluate the cost efficiency of products and projects, monitoring actual expenses against bid proposals as projects progress.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, internal departments, and construction leads to develop accurate estimates and resolve related concerns.
• Conduct specialized studies aimed at establishing standard labor hours and cost data or identifying cost reduction opportunities.
• Develop and maintain cost tracking and reporting protocols.
• Manage a comprehensive directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Assess whether to manufacture or procure components based on material and labor analysis to optimize cost-effectiveness.
• Formulate estimates to guide management in planning, organizing, and scheduling activities.
• Present and justify estimate details to clients as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience as a Construction Estimator or in similar positions.
• Demonstrated expertise in school, commercial, federal, state, or government construction projects.
• Strong command over cost estimation techniques and budget oversight.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and legal frameworks.
• Excellent analytical reasoning and critical thinking prowess.
• Effective communication and negotiation capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction cost estimating software.
• Adeptness at managing multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
• High attention to detail coupled with solid organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
• Possession of a professional construction estimating certification is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging between $100,000 and $130,000 annually, tailored to experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities.
