Estimator - Aluminum/Facade

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Estimator specializing in aluminum and façade projects to deliver precise and competitive cost forecasts. This role demands thorough analysis of project documentation, preparing detailed quantity take-offs, securing supplier quotes, and aligning estimates with project specs and profitability goals.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze tender documents, BOQs, architectural and structural drawings, and project requirements.
• Generate detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimations for aluminum and façade-related works.
• Calculate costs related to aluminum profiles, glass, hardware, cladding, fabrication, installation, labor, and other associated materials.
• Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns, quotations, and tender proposals.
• Source and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with Design, Procurement, Production, and Project teams to guarantee accuracy in pricing.
• Identify any discrepancies, omissions, risks, and potential variations during tender and estimation phases.
• Create value engineering and cost-saving suggestions where suitable.
• Maintain an updated database of material costs, labor rates, supplier quotations, and subcontractor expenses.
• Assist in pricing and preparation of variations and additional work requests.
• Compare actual project expenditures with estimates to enhance future cost predictions.
• Submit accurate estimates within designated deadlines.
• Support management in commercial and technical assessments of new business opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar discipline.
• At least five to eight years of relevant estimation experience in aluminum, façade, curtain walls, glazing, cladding, or aluminum fabrication sectors.
• In-depth understanding of aluminum profiles, façade systems, curtain walls, windows, doors, glass, hardware, and ancillary components.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
• Strong skills in quantity take-offs, cost calculations, and preparing detailed estimates.
• Knowledgeable about fabrication and installation expenditures for aluminum and façade systems.
• Competent in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with AutoCAD and estimation or ERP software is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Able to perform well under pressure managing multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Experience within UAE or Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets is preferred.
