The Enterprise Risk Manager will be based at Mercury's Head Office in Ballycoolin, Dublin (currently advertised for Sandyford with relocation planned by February 3rd, 2026). The role involves managing risk across the organization, requiring collaboration with all management levels to identify and mitigate strategic and operational risks and promoting a culture attentive to risk awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist management in recognizing, evaluating, and handling critical risks that might affect Mercury’s reputation, strategic goals, operations, or financial health.
• Develop, implement, and oversee an adaptable risk management framework addressing emerging risks.
• Create and enforce risk management policies, procedures, and standards that align with best practices.
• Promote a robust risk-aware culture by increasing risk understanding and ownership across the company and supporting leadership to advance risk management maturity.
• Support different organizational levels in understanding their risk exposure and incorporating risk knowledge in decision-making.
• Ensure a consistent and unified risk management methodology throughout all Mercury divisions.
• Organize and conduct training sessions and communication campaigns to enhance risk literacy and engagement.
• Design and maintain an efficient risk monitoring and reporting system tailored to the needs of management, leadership, and the board.
• Contribute to maintaining business continuity and crisis management plans suitable for Mercury’s operations.
• Collaborate with second line functions to develop a comprehensive integrated assurance framework.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as an Enterprise Risk Manager or related role within a commercial setting.
• Strong knowledge of risk management methodologies, principles, and best practices.
• Excellent analytical capabilities paired with a problem-solving mindset.
• Proven skills in negotiation and influencing stakeholders.
• Business-savvy approach with aptitude to engage with varying competency levels in risk management.
• Effective team collaboration abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills.
• Relevant qualifications in business, finance, risk management, or equivalent fields.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience within a fast-growing commercial organization.
• Proven track record of building and developing risk management frameworks from inception.
• Industry-specific experience is a plus but not a requirement.
