Role Overview
Join Jacobs as a Highways Engineer to contribute towards designing and delivering some of the largest and most impactful transport projects across Ireland and the UK. This role involves shaping infrastructure that connects communities, fosters growth, and promotes sustainable transportation.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead project delivery throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial feasibility and concept design to detailed engineering and implementation.
- Provide expert technical guidance across various projects including major highway infrastructure, complex junctions, and active travel schemes.
- Coordinate effectively between clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, compliant, and innovative project outcomes.
- Contribute to nationally significant infrastructure initiatives such as highways, junctions, and public transit programs.

Essential Requirements
- A Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer accreditation through Engineers Ireland or an equivalent body.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Transport Infrastructure Ireland publications, UK Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards, and Active Travel guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience in major highway, local road, or sustainable travel projects, alongside a solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Experience with construction supervision and conducting road safety audits.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies.
