Role Purpose
We are seeking a Senior Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The role involves supporting the deployment of APC and optimization solutions in industrial settings, overseeing system installation, testing, commissioning, and customer service, while nurturing skills to evolve as a lead APC engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate project updates and activities promptly to management.
- Study and master Advanced Solution software and hardware specifications.
- Perform installation and configuration of related hardware and software systems.
- Execute Factory Acceptance Tests and assist in customer demonstrations.
- Support site installation, commissioning, and startup phases.
- Enhance APC engineering proficiency through active project engagement and self-driven learning.
- Execute projects adhering to Yokogawa's implementation standards and offer technical advice as needed.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to grasp operational demands and uncover new business opportunities.
- Assist sales and business development with technical proposals, presentations, and client visits.
- Develop capability to act as a lead engineer within the first year of hire.
- Take independent ownership of assigned responsibilities with proactive management.
- Be prepared for approximately 50% travel to domestic and regional customer sites.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in process industries, plant operations, automation, or solution engineering.
- Familiarity with sectors such as oil and gas, refining, or chemical plants.
- Understanding of technologies including Process Control Systems, Advanced Process Control (APC), Process Historians, and DCS Advanced Control Applications.
- Experience with Yokogawa’s EXA product suite is advantageous.
Competencies
- Demonstrated commitment and persistence in fulfilling responsibilities.
- Capability to undertake intensive remote site activities like step testing and commissioning.
- A strong desire for continuous learning and professional growth.
- Capacity to function effectively both autonomously and within team settings.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Windows operating systems, network communication, OPC protocols, and database management.
- Ability to generate comprehensive technical documentation and reports in English.
- Possession of a valid driving license.
