Role Overview

The Facade Engineer will be tasked with designing, analyzing, and coordinating building facades and envelopes across various projects, including residential, commercial, and large-scale developments. Daily duties encompass preparing detailed facade drawings and technical specifications, conducting structural and building physics analyses, and ensuring adherence to all relevant codes, standards, and sustainability benchmarks. Collaboration with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and suppliers is essential to select suitable materials, improve performance, and troubleshoot technical challenges throughout design, fabrication, and installation stages. Additional responsibilities include participating in value engineering efforts, performing quality assurance, and conducting on-site inspections to confirm accuracy, durability, and safety.

Key Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with facade design encompassing building envelopes and system solutions tailored for practical and innovative outcomes.
  • Strong foundation in structural engineering relevant to facades, such as load analysis, connection design, and material performance evaluation.
  • Expertise in building physics including thermal characteristics, moisture and air control, acoustics, and energy efficiency considerations in facades.
  • Proficiency with design and modeling software like AutoCAD, Revit, structural analysis platforms, and facade-specific tools.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field.
  • Familiarity with regional construction codes, notably the Saudi Building Code and green building guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities paired with detailed technical report writing skills.
  • Capability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and effectively communicate with varied project stakeholders.
  • Experience in the fabrication or installation of metal, aluminum, or curtain wall systems is advantageous.
