About the Role
Join Baker Hughes as an Engineer specializing in Fleet Management, contributing to the maintenance and operation of heavy-duty gas turbines and related systems. This role involves providing technical solutions and support for turbine operations, collaborating closely with customers and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely technical resolutions for issues related to heavy-duty gas turbines, their control, protection, and accessory systems by applying engineering principles and collaborating between field and design engineering teams.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers to understand and resolve their technical concerns promptly.
- Lead root cause analysis for product-related technical problems, coordinating efforts between service, systems, and design engineering groups.
- Prepare and present technical updates and findings to leadership and customers.
- Travel to client sites to support technical meetings, manage unplanned outages, and assist commercial teams with technical aspects of sales and service proposals.
- Oversee technical engineering aspects during planned service outages ensuring reliability and availability targets are met.
- Work jointly with design engineering and suppliers to implement technical fleet program solutions effectively.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Control & Instrumentation, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Between 2 to 5 years of experience in design engineering, operation, maintenance, or troubleshooting of heavy-duty gas turbines and associated equipment.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20-25% on short notice.
- Flexibility to provide emergency technical support during weekends.
- Legal eligibility to work in Saudi Arabia without company sponsorship.
- Preferred candidates will have experience working in matrix organizational structures and in customer-facing roles related to design or field maintenance.
- Effective communication skills tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences and strong teamwork capabilities.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions timely within a global matrix organization.
- Proven leadership in driving engineering actions under challenging conditions.
- Self-motivation with robust technical and analytical skills and familiarity with engineering tools and systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English required and Arabic language skills are an advantage.
Work Environment and Flexibility
