Field Specialist – Drilling Optimization Engineer

Overview

Join the Drilling Services Team at Baker Hughes and contribute to the testing and development of cutting-edge oilfield equipment that drives our operations. Collaborate with experts from science, mechanical and electrical engineering, physics, and geoscience disciplines to innovate drilling tools that enhance productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide drilling optimization support to Baker Hughes Drilling Services operations at well sites.
• Support digital innovations including Kantori Optimization services, Drilling Analytics and Corva platforms, and autonomous directional drilling applications.
• Engage actively in the sharing of knowledge and lessons learned within the organization.
• Assist in the field testing and integration of new software technologies.
• Participate in knowledge management initiatives across Drilling Services.
• Act as a communication bridge between local and global technology development teams.
• Ensure compliance with Baker Hughes' global standards, policies, and procedures throughout supported activities.
• Adhere to and promote the company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) Management System protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in engineering is required; Petroleum Engineering is preferred.
• At least 7 years of field experience with Baker Hughes, focusing on Drilling Services technologies.
• A minimum of 5 years' expertise in Directional Drilling or Drilling Engineering is preferred.
• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts is an advantage.

Work Environment and Benefits

This position involves on-site work at customer locations throughout the region. You will follow the customer’s working schedule when on-site and have the opportunity to take extended leave between projects.
