Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of trucks and trailers following a vehicle checklist, including checking oil and water levels; document and report any faults or damages.
- Verify crew list against truck and load numbers, confirm quantity of goods for delivery, and guide the crew on the packing sequence.
- Maintain completion of log sheets and adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
- Perform daily stock counts using handheld devices.
- Inspect customer storerooms for adequate space allocation prior to delivery.
- Direct the crew on offloading order and oversee the unloading process.
- Communicate any complaints or challenges encountered to the supervisor promptly.
- Count empty containers before loading the vehicle.
- Record odometer readings and submit to the relevant personnel.
- Ensure delivery invoices are accurately completed and handed over appropriately.
- Utilize EBL technology for delivery and invoicing purposes.
- Follow pre-determined routes as organized by the planner.
Qualifications & Skills
- Completion of Form V and holder of a valid Heavy Duty vehicle driving license.
- Exceptional driving abilities complemented by good eyesight.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written, capable of managing customer inquiries and liaison.
- Supervisory experience with ability to lead and organize teams.
- Proficiency in the use of electronic equipment.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal capabilities.
- Team-oriented with well-developed organizational and planning competencies.
- Ability to function efficiently under pressure within a dynamic cross-functional environment.
- Demonstrated customer service ethics and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Self-management and independent working skills.
