Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Energy and Fluids Coordinator to lead and manage the functional aspects of plant Energy & Fluids within our Africa Zone business unit. This role, reporting directly to the Zone Energy & Fluids Director, will serve as the primary point of contact for Energy & Fluids activities for the business operating platform, closely collaborating with country business units to implement strategies that ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and agree upon strategic directions for the Energy & Fluids function, ensuring alignment with business needs and the VPO.
- Develop and oversee KPIs and reporting mechanisms to provide actionable business insights.
- Guarantee compliance with maintenance statutory requirements for utilities and adherence to safety, health, and environmental maintenance procedures.
- Drive governance and compliance with maintenance standards and update technologies to align with business policies.
- Conduct energy and fluids audits across the zone and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Support breweries in developing 1-year and 3-year glide path plans and implementation of value-added initiatives.
- Participate in utilities budget preparation and execution, ensuring resource availability to enhance E&F efficiency.
- Implement global Energy & Fluids processes and integrate process improvement projects.
- Develop standardized business continuity plans and risk management approaches for utilities and mitigate equipment obsolescence.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and coach personnel across breweries, including leading technical package development and best practices implementation.
- Assist in identifying and evaluating capital investments, serving as utilities SME in capital projects to ensure best practice incorporation.
- Work with procurement teams to identify and select key suppliers by developing technical specifications.
Candidate Attributes and Competencies
- Strong understanding of process industries and engineering principles.
- Highly self-driven with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all organizational levels, including executive management and shop-floor personnel.
- Strong problem-solving and analytic skills combined with practical decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent networking and collaboration abilities within diverse teams and geographical areas.
- Firm knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in FMCG or beverage sectors focusing on industrial electrical/mechanical engineering and maintenance.
- Proficient practitioner of the manufacturing way and VPO methodologies.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and plant legislative regulations.
