Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and efficient Dispatcher to join our security operations team based in Nisku, Alberta. This key role serves as the communication hub connecting clients, on-ground security professionals, and internal teams to ensure smooth, effective security operations.

The Dispatcher will juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, coordinate coverage, respond promptly to inquiries and emergencies, monitor security systems, and utilize various software tools. This position demands reliability, calmness under pressure, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain daily security staffing to guarantee full coverage.
  • Review schedules to detect and address gaps or problems.
  • Communicate directly with field security guards to provide swift operational assistance.
  • Receive client requests and allocate security personnel accordingly.
  • Compile and circulate weekly schedules accurately to security staff.
  • Respond to emergency alarms and dispatch appropriate support.
  • Track attendance issues and escalate persistent absences when necessary.
  • Oversee access control systems, CCTV, and other monitoring technologies.
  • Handle employee accommodation bookings with cost and scheduling considerations.
  • Update schedules using designated scheduling software ensuring compliance with Hours of Work regulations.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients, employees, and internal teams.
  • Identify and solve operational challenges proactively.
  • Monitor and manage company equipment assigned to employees.
  • Document all records, reports, schedules, and system updates accurately.
  • Utilize diverse company software and technology platforms to support daily tasks.
  • Support additional operational responsibilities as assigned.

Candidate Profile

  • Possesses 2 to 3 years' experience in dispatch, scheduling, security operations, logistics, or related roles.
  • Holding or previously holding a valid Alberta Security License is advantageous.
  • Proficient with computer technology and eager to learn new software swiftly.
  • Experience using scheduling software considered a plus.
  • High accuracy in typing and data entry.
  • Effective written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with consistent follow-through.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a busy environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Maintains composure and professionalism during urgent or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Demonstrates reliability and a collaborative team mindset.

Work Schedule and Availability

This position operates on a 4-week rotating roster including day, evening, night shifts, weekends, and varying off days, averaging between 28 and 40 hours weekly depending on operational demands. Employees with an Alberta Security License may have opportunities to undertake additional casual security shifts when available.
