Backwoods Energy Services, a fully Indigenous-owned company, specializes in construction services across the oil, gas, and utility sectors in north-western Alberta. Their operations span five divisions: Civil Works and Clearing, Environmental Services, Pipeline and Integrity Maintenance, Matting Supply and Installation, and Security Services. Position Overview
We are currently hiring dependable and safety-conscious Flaggers to assist with traffic control at active construction sites. The role entails directing vehicle and pedestrian flow, managing traffic control equipment, and maintaining a secure environment for both work crews and the public.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday with occasional weekend duties
- Split shifts from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Compensation
The starting wage ranges between $21 and $22 per hour.
Typical Responsibilities
- Guide traffic using stop/slow paddles, hand signals, radios, and signage
- Set up, sustain, and remove traffic cones, barricades, and delineators as needed
- Maintain clear communication through verbal commands, radios, and hand gestures
- Operate safely under varying weather conditions and in areas with high traffic volume
