Role Overview

We are hiring a Dispatcher responsible for scheduling drivers for freight deliveries and pickups from customers and vendors. The role also entails acting as an intermediary among customers, drivers, and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assigning drivers schedules for deliveries and shipment collections.
  • Interacting with customers and vendors to relay freight information, pick-up/drop-off timings, and special instructions.
  • Planning fixed routes for drivers to follow.
  • Identifying traffic-related issues and formulating corrective plans to ensure timely results.
  • Generating dispatch documentation for management and providing necessary documents to employees, customers, or vendors.
  • Keeping accurate logs of dispatch calls, driver routes, changes, and delivery/pick-up timings.
  • Overseeing truck maintenance and repair schedules.
  • Recording any complaints or concerns from vendors.
  • Handling phone calls from vendors, customers, and management to offer assistance.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of local and state traffic laws and regulations.
  • Adaptability to implement quick route adjustments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and multitask efficiently.
  • Proficient with computer software and technology tools.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Employment Details

  • Position type: Direct Hire
  • Working days: Monday through Friday
  • Shift timings: Training hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; post-training from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Hourly pay range: $22.00 to $23.50, subject to market conditions and final agreement.
