Job description
Job Overview
The role entails cleaning, transporting, and safely storing all dishware including china, glassware, and silverware. Maintaining sanitation standards throughout the kitchen environment and back dock is a key responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the dishroom, kitchen aisles, and dock areas.
- Disassemble trays, operate and set up dishwashing machines, clean dishware, and properly sort and store all kitchen items.
- Empty and clean trash containers thoroughly inside and out.
- Clean dock area and dumpsters thoroughly.
- Disassemble and clean dishwashing machines thoroughly both inside and outside.
- Clean all worktables after use.
- Wash tile walls and baseboards to uphold hygiene standards.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisors related to job functions.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in English communication.
- A proactive attitude with a calm and even temperament.
- Maintain professional appearance and behavior at all times.
- Effective communication skills with guests.
- Demonstrate teamwork by assisting colleagues as needed.
- Physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Physical capability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Performance Standards
Customer Satisfaction: Providing excellent guest interaction is essential. All staff are expected to remain professional and courteous with guests and colleagues, acting as ambassadors for the hotel's guest relations at all times.
Work Habits: Employees should consistently meet and aim to exceed hotel standards relating to procedures, dress code, grooming, punctuality, and attendance. Openness to adapt to changes and eagerness to learn or enhance skills is required alongside the ability to solve routine problems or seek supervision when needed.
Safety & Security: Safety of guests and staff is paramount. Adherence to security policies including key management, safe lifting, chemical use, and hazard reporting is obligatory.
