Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and support APAC development teams in designing, budgeting, consultant selection, subcontractor and contract negotiations, and procurement involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, building management, and control systems across projects.
  • Contribute to the development of APAC team resources including Master MEP specifications, cost summaries, and a database of consultants and manufacturers.
  • Collaborate closely with team members on design, cost management, scheduling, and other project phases up to preconstruction completion.
  • Review and provide feedback on designs from external consultants and architects to ensure consistency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in preparing and evaluating RFPs for MEP consultants and subcontractors, and assist in scope and business term negotiations.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with major engineering consultants and contractors.
  • Evaluate engineering budgets per project and support country teams in consultant and contractor bid meetings.
  • Create and maintain a repository of project experiences and "MEP lessons learned" to share with local teams.
  • Stay informed of current MEP engineering trends and market conditions in APAC.
  • Support construction management teams as a resource during construction phases.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Managing Director of Conceptual Construction APAC.
  • Travel up to 50% across APAC to assist project success within the Conceptual Construction team.

Qualifications

  • Proactive strategic thinker and critical leader.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; preferred fields include Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 10 years' extensive MEP design experience from engineering consulting, real estate development, or general contracting environments, ideally on large-scale commercial office, multi-family, logistics, or hospitality projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in all preconstruction activities.
  • Strong engineering design and problem-solving capabilities combined with creativity and conceptual expertise.
  • Proficient with computer spreadsheets, word processing, and relevant professional software tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear, effective technical advisement to non-technical audiences.
  • Confident, respectful demeanor and high ethical standards ensuring compliance with laws, codes, and company policies.
  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing); additional regional language skills are advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, CAD software, and Bluebeam.
