About the Role
Help at Home is seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide individualized care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities within their homes and communities. Join a leading in-home support provider dedicated to fostering independence and dignity for individuals in your area. Pay ranges between $13 and $15 per hour with weekly payroll.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with everyday activities such as meal preparation, household chores, personal hygiene, grooming, and transportation.
- Encourage and facilitate involvement in social outings and community events like shopping or social gatherings.
- Support clients in pursuing personal goals and acknowledge their achievements.
- Promote autonomy, choice, and self-advocacy for those under your care.
- Maintain accurate records of provided care, activities, and progress.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and consistent support delivery.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass a background check and complete mandatory training.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance (primary or secondary) is required.
- Ability to work safely and respectfully in clients' homes and community settings.
- Demonstrate compassion, reliability, and commitment to making a meaningful impact.
- Preferred candidates have prior experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or autism, including implementing Individualized Activity Support Plans and Plans of Service and Supports.
- Familiarity with basic behavior-support techniques such as redirection, visual prompts, and environmental adjustments is advantageous.

Minimum education
Higher Secondary (Class 12)
