About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate Support Worker to assist adults with intellectual disabilities in achieving enriched, fulfilling lives both at home and in the community. In this full-time position, you will engage creatively to make everyday experiences meaningful for those you support. Your duties will include fostering independence, managing daily routines, encouraging personal interests, promoting well-being, and strengthening community and family ties.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote independence by helping individuals develop daily living skills like meal preparation and using public transport.
- Assist with personal care including showering, dressing, and medication management.
- Encourage and support pursuit of hobbies and personal goals.
- Advise on healthy lifestyle choices to maintain overall health.
- Build and nurture relationships with family and community networks.
Candidate Requirements
- Enthusiasm for helping others and a positive, eager-to-learn attitude.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including AM, PM, sleepovers, and one weekend every two weeks.
- Basic proficiency with computers and tablets for daily use.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical capacity to provide necessary physical assistance.
- Possession of a full New Zealand driver's license.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage between $24.68 and $30.13 depending on qualifications, with potential for increases as further certifications are earned.
- Support towards Level 2, 3, and 4 Certificates in Health and Wellbeing through IDEA Services.

Additional Information
- This is a permanent full-time role with approximately 65+ hours every fortnight.
