Support Worker - Whangārei

Role Overview

We are offering both full-time and part-time positions for the role of Support Worker in Whangārei. This role demands flexibility as you will be required to work varying shifts, including days, evenings, overnight sleepovers, and regular weekends. Pay ranges from $24.68 to $30.13 per hour depending on your qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with intellectual disabilities to develop independence, helping them with daily skills such as using public transport and cooking.
• Support personal care activities including assisting with showering, dressing, and medication management.
• Encourage and facilitate participation in hobbies, interests, and personal objectives.
• Promote health and well-being tailored to each individual's needs.
• Manage complex behaviors with calm, respectful, and consistent support.
• Help clients maintain strong relationships with their families, colleagues, and community networks.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience as a Support Worker is preferred but a positive, compassionate attitude is more important.
• Ability and willingness to work on a flexible rostered shift basis.
• Composure and confidence in managing challenging behaviors.
• Experience working with computers and tablets on a daily basis.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Physical capability to provide necessary support.
• Possession of a full New Zealand driver's license.
