About the Role
Join IDEA Services in Rotorua as a full-time Support Worker on a fixed term contract until January 2027. This position involves weekend and sleepover shifts, requiring availability for alternate weekends. In this role, you will assist people with intellectual disabilities, helping them to pursue their ambitions, build confidence, and live independently in their communities. Each day offers meaningful engagement and the chance to create impactful connections.
Responsibilities & Expectations
- Deliver compassionate support to adults with intellectual disabilities, aiding them in day-to-day activities and personal care.
- Work flexible hours including weekends and overnight shifts.
- Maintain a calm and confident approach when managing challenging behaviors.
- Utilize computers and tablets consistently for communication and record-keeping.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Preferably has previous caregiving or personal care experience with adults.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physically fit to provide necessary support to individuals.
- Holds a full New Zealand driver's license.
