Job description
Position Overview
IDEA Services is dedicated to assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling lives within their homes and communities. This role, based in Morrinsville, involves delivering compassionate care and support to clients with complex needs, including overnight care and risk management.
Key Duties and Commitments
- Provide individual care, safety, and support to clients throughout night shifts, including sleepovers.
- Work flexible hours including alternate weekends as required.
- Carry out duties requiring physical fitness and ability to handle challenging behaviours calmly and confidently.
- Utilize computers and tablets routinely as part of daily responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous caregiving or personal care experience, preferably in disability or aged care sectors, is favored though varied life experience and attitude are highly valued.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Hold a full New Zealand driver's license and legal rights to live and work in New Zealand.
Remuneration and Benefits
- An hourly wage ranging from $24.68 to $30.13, based on qualifications, with opportunities to increase pay through further certification.
