Role Overview

As a Facilitator, you will work closely with people who have disabilities or long-term health conditions to help them pursue meaningful paid work and support young people transitioning from school to employment, volunteering, or other opportunities. This role adopts a holistic, person-centred methodology that focuses on understanding individual goals and providing practical assistance that fosters increased independence and involvement in work and community life.

Your responsibilities include supporting clients with resume and cover letter creation, offering interview preparation, liaising with employers to identify suitable job openings, aligning individuals with positions that suit their strengths and interests, delivering employment services within schools, and aiding clients in adapting to work routines, independent travel, and gaining confidence in new settings.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possess a Level 5 qualification or higher (mandatory).
• Strong communication abilities to build rapport, engage clients, and advocate effectively.
• Exhibit enthusiasm, empathy, patience, resilience, and self-motivation.
• Hold a clean New Zealand full driver’s license with the capability to travel as needed.
  • Additionally, you should have proven experience cultivating relationships with employers and community support systems and a solid understanding of the New Zealand labour market.
