Role Overview
Help at Home is actively seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals to join our team in Hernando, MS. Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver one-on-one support to individuals with developmental disabilities at their residences and within the community
- Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, housekeeping, personal hygiene and grooming, and transportation
- Encourage engagement in social, shopping, and community events
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals and recognizing progress
- Advocate for client choice, independence, and self-advocacy
- Document care activities and progress accurately and thoroughly
- Maintain effective communication with team members to ensure consistent quality of care
Minimum Eligibility Criteria
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent educational attainment
- Successful completion of background checks and mandatory training
- Possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
- Ability to work safely and respectfully within clients’ homes and community environments
- Exhibit compassion, reliability, and a genuine desire to positively impact others
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience supporting individuals with I/DD or autism
- Familiarity with Individual Activity Support Plans (ASP) and Plans of Service and Supports (PSS)
- Knowledge of foundational behavioral support techniques such as redirection, visual cues, and environmental adjustments
