Role Summary

We are looking for a Deputy Project Director to be part of our vibrant project management team in Doha, Qatar. This key role involves assisting the Project Director with comprehensive oversight of intricate airport development and operational projects, ensuring they are completed punctually, cost-effectively, and uphold the highest quality standards. You will engage with various stakeholders and supervise multiple project facets to ensure smooth delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Director in planning, organizing, and implementing airport projects of diverse scale and complexity.
• Oversee scheduling, budgeting, and resource distribution to optimize project outcomes and financial control.
• Liaise effectively with government bodies, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to facilitate project coordination.
• Track project timelines and deliverables, promptly identifying and resolving disparities.
• Perform detailed risk analyses and devise mitigation plans to prevent disruptions.
• Maintain strict adherence to aviation regulations, safety protocols, and company policies across all project phases.
• Compile and deliver comprehensive project reports and updates for senior management.
• Lead, support, and develop project teams to foster collaboration and high performance.
• Handle conflicts and escalations professionally, maintaining positive stakeholder relations.
• Analyze project data to enhance continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 18 years' experience in project management, including at least 10 years in senior leadership or deputy director roles.
• Substantial expertise in managing airport development, cargo expansion, or operational projects is essential.
• In-depth understanding of airport operations, aviation standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven skills in budget planning, financial forecasting, and cost management.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies such as PMP or PRINCE2.
• Advanced command of project management software like Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalents.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities, with influence across diverse groups.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, plus attention to detail in project execution.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams toward excellence.
• Effective organization and multitasking abilities to handle concurrent priorities.
• Preferably experienced with airport infrastructure projects in the Middle East.
• Familiarity with aviation safety management systems and quality assurance procedures is an advantage.
