Contracts Director

Overview

Join Parsons as a Contracts Director, a key role bridging project execution and financial sustainability for one of the most ambitious infrastructure programs in Saudi Arabia. This position is part of a multidisciplinary PMO team overseeing complex Design-Build projects and managing high-value contract portfolios that shape the Kingdom's future.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage complex contracts (FIDIC, NEC, or customized) ensuring full compliance with contractual duties and Saudi Arabian laws.
• Identify and mitigate contract and financial risks early, protecting interests of Parsons and clients.
• Lead negotiations and resolution of major variations, change orders, and disputes.
• Serve as commercial liaison to clients to maximize project value.
• Promote a culture of professional integrity and technical excellence across teams.
• Establish strategic guidance and oversee contract management efforts.
• Devise and execute commercial and contract strategies to meet project goals and deadlines while increasing value.
• Review and manage contractor and client change requests including documentation through to execution.
• Ensure strict compliance with contract terms, managing claims and disputes effectively.
• Provide expertise on contract interpretation and risk management approaches.
• Monitor project expenditure and apply stringent cost control practices to avoid overruns.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reporting, forecasts, and cost analyses for senior leadership.
• Build and sustain productive relationships with suppliers and contractors for optimal outcomes.
• Identify, evaluate, and minimize commercial risks during project delivery.
• Create contingency plans addressing financial and contractual challenges.
• Provide training and mentorship to improve team competencies and results.
• Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders for commercial alignment.
• Represent the project in commercial negotiations and discussions with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and contractual mandates.
• Deliver detailed commercial reports to management and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 20 years in commercial management roles across diverse construction sectors.
• Deep knowledge of cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale construction projects within budget and schedule constraints.
• Understanding of local legislation, industry norms, and best practices.
• Competency in project management software and financial systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• MRICS professional certification favored.
• Experience within Project Management Office (PMO) environments.
• Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Attention to accuracy in financial documentation and reporting.
• Capability to handle high-pressure scenarios and prioritize effectively.
