Planning Engineer (UAE National)

About the Role

Parsons invites talented UAE Nationals to become Planning Engineers at our Abu Dhabi office, working in support of the Stormwater DMT Technical Advisory Program. This role involves contributing to projects enhancing stormwater networks, pumping stations, outfalls, and infrastructure resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in creating, updating, and managing project schedules related to stormwater advisory tasks using approved scheduling software.
• Contribute to the preparation of schedule status reports, updates on progress, and resource allocation curves.
• Support identification of scheduling deviations and potential risks; aid senior team members in formulating corrective or mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to collect and verify scheduling data.
• Help prepare and update cost control systems and basic cost reports under senior supervision.
• Perform accuracy checks on cost reporting documents and other project control materials.
• Create visual aids such as graphs and diagrams for internal reporting and presentations.
• Support the application of project controls standards and templates harmonized with Parsons and client requirements.
• Maintain organized records of schedules, reports, and project control documentation.
• Fulfill other duties relevant to the project controls functions as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience level typically ranges from entry to 1 year in project controls, planning, scheduling, or construction/infrastructure projects.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in UAE infrastructure sectors like stormwater, water, wastewater, or municipal services is advantageous but not mandatory.

Preferred Skills

• Fundamental engineering understanding in civil or related fields; knowledge of water or stormwater infrastructure is a plus.
• Basic understanding of planning and project control methodologies including scheduling, progress assessment, and cost reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with scheduling software like Primavera P6 or MS Project is beneficial.
• Strong analytical capabilities, numeracy, and attention to detail when managing and reviewing data.
• Effective communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and in structured project management office (PMO) or project management consultant (PMC) environments.
