About the Role and Company
Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management operating across over 100 countries, invites applications for the position of Deputy Manager - Quality, specializing in Product Testing, based in Ahmednagar, India. The Lauritz Knudsen Electrical and Automation unit, part of Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd., carries a 70-year Indian legacy and offers a wide range of low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear, automation solutions, and related services catering to multiple sectors from homes to industries.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all laboratory activities focused on domestic switches, sockets, and related peripherals, including ensuring lab equipment is operational, calibrated, and fully capable.
- Manage the complete BIS certification process including obtaining certifications, timely renewal, compliance documentation, and maintaining liaison with BIS officials and external laboratories for standards such as IS 3854:2023, IS 1293:2019, IS 15787:2008, IS 302, IS 13252, and IS 10322.
- Conduct failure analysis by performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective as well as preventive measures to improve product reliability.
- Support internal and external audits including those from BIS, ISO, and customers ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing quality processes and digitalization to boost reliability and operational efficiency.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Practical hands-on experience in electrical and electronic product testing.
- Detailed understanding and familiarity with Wiring Devices products such as switches, sockets, and other modular electrical products.
- Knowledge of BIS standards and the end-to-end product certification process specifically related to Indian Standards listed above.
- Experience with failure analysis methodologies including 7QC, PFMEA, and root cause analysis.
- Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and calibration procedures.
- Familiarity with SAP QM (Quality Management) and MM (Materials Management) modules is preferred but not mandatory.
Eligibility and Education Requirements
Candidates should possess a Diploma with 2-7 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electronics or Electrical and Electronics Engineering with 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
