Cost Management Team Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Auckland Cost Management team to enhance capability, performance, and professional growth.
• Oversee Cost Management services on major projects, offering senior-level commercial and technical direction.
• Manage overall resources, budgets, timelines, and commercial risks to ensure project success.
• Establish and sustain senior client relationships, identifying new business opportunities.
• Lead proposal development, submissions, client presentations, and contribute to winning new contracts.
• Influence the strategic direction of AECOM’s national Cost Management practice.
• Collaborate across AECOM’s domestic and global networks to access the right technical expertise for clients.
• Adopt AI, digital tools, and emerging technology to advance Cost Management delivery methods.
• Mentor and develop upcoming Cost Management professionals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or an allied field.
• Extensive experience in cost management or quantity surveying, preferably within consulting.
• Chartered or professional membership such as NZIQS, RICS, or equivalent.
• Proven leadership in managing Cost Management services with accountability for project resources, budgets, and deadlines.
• Strong senior stakeholder and client relationship management skills.
• Experienced in preparing and leading proposals, presentations, and submissions.
• Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen, including risk and project performance management.
• Familiarity with Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contracts is advantageous.
• Effective mentorship and team leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
