Role Summary

As a Cookie Delivery Driver, you will serve as the primary representative of Insomnia Cookies outside the bakery. Your mission is to deliver orders efficiently and warmly, whether by car or bike, ensuring customers receive their treats promptly and with exceptional service. Alongside deliveries, you will help maintain bakery operations such as order preparation, guest interaction, and general upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify the quality and accuracy of orders before dispatch
• Deliver cookies, milk, and ice cream promptly and safely to customers
• Provide courteous and professional customer service in person and over the phone
• Utilize the company's delivery application to update order statuses and meet standards
• Assist with baking, packaging, and order preparation within the bakery
• Operate the cash register and manage guest transactions
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery environment
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and at least a G2 license held for 2 years
• Ownership of a reliable vehicle with valid insurance under your name
• Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Operator (MTO) abstract check
• Proficiency in English reading, writing and basic math for transaction handling
• Familiarity with the local delivery area (within 5 km radius) around York University considered an asset
• Possession of a lit roof topper on the vehicle during delivery shifts
• Smartphone capable of running company delivery apps
• Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical and Environment Requirements

• Ability to drive safely for extended periods throughout shifts
• Capacity to frequently enter and exit vehicles
• Stand and walk for prolonged times within the bakery
• Lift and carry items up to 30 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance
• Work in varying weather conditions and bakery settings including exposure to ovens, refrigeration, and moderate noise

Work Conditions and Schedule

This position requires working both inside the bakery, which is a fast-paced environment with ovens and cleaning chemicals, and outside on roads under varying weather and traffic conditions. Peak work hours include nights, weekends, and holidays.
