Consumables Associate

Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Consumables Associate offers a valuable opportunity to build expertise within the retail sector. This role centers on exceptional customer service and ensures the efficient movement of merchandise from storage to store shelves. Working collaboratively as a team member, the Associate is tasked with stocking items, processing goods, and assisting customers, all while maintaining a safe and tidy workspace.

Responsibilities

• Politely welcome every customer entering the store.
• Support shoppers by promoting products, helping locate items, and guiding purchase choices.
• Address customer concerns effectively and escalate issues to management when necessary.
• Preserve the quality of the salesfloor by stocking, rotating goods, removing expired or damaged products, setting up displays, and ensuring accurate signage and pricing.
• Handle product returns and claims correctly, secure inventory, monitor shrinkage risks, and uphold safety standards as per company protocols.
• Receive new stock, organize it using proper equipment, and complete associated paperwork and records.
• Refer specific service or transaction needs to the Customer Service Manager as appropriate.
• Manage product placement tasks including stocking, picking, downstocking if applicable, applying protective measures, and arranging modular displays including flex modulars and new shelf caps.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $17.75 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidates must be 16 years of age or older.
