About the Role

As a General Merchandise Associate at Walmart Canada, you will develop valuable skills in a dynamic retail setting. Key Responsibilities

• Offer courteous and professional customer service, including greeting shoppers, assisting with product choices, promoting store products and services, locating merchandise, supporting purchasing decisions, and addressing or escalating customer issues as necessary.
• Provide sales floor coverage by managing designated areas and help at the Front End when needed, communicating effectively with team members to maintain floor presence and meet customer demands.
• Maintain a clean and orderly sales floor through zoning assigned areas, relocating featured products to appropriate locations, and handling recovery merchandise from Customer Service or other departments.
• Execute stocking tasks, pick merchandise, perform downstocking, apply product protection measures, and efficiently set up modular displays, including flexible modulars and new shelf caps.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering to company policies, completing safety inspection logs, and securing displays and fixtures to prevent hazards.
• Demonstrate flexibility by being available to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support store operations and guarantee consistent, high-quality customer service.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage high volumes of tasks within a fast-paced workplace, including overnight shifts, by maintaining energy and focus throughout the work period.
• Handle significant restocking and recovery duties efficiently and accurately within allotted times.
• Perform physical activities such as standing for long durations, bending, and lifting items up to 20 lbs regularly, and occasionally lifting items up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive actions like stocking, zoning, and organizing products meticulously to preserve store standards.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $18.40 per hour.
