Position Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a General Merchandise Associate offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills within the retail sector. This role centers around delivering outstanding customer service in line with Walmart’s core values, managing and maintaining the appearance and stock of general merchandise areas, and supporting sales activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly and courteous customer service by greeting shoppers, assisting in product promotion, locating items, guiding purchase decisions, resolving issues, and escalating concerns when necessary.
- Manage and maintain assigned sales floor areas, ensuring product zones are organized and tidy.
- Handle feature merchandise by relocating it to designated displays.
- Support merchandise recovery initiatives from the Customer Service Desk and other store locations.
- Assist with coverage at the Front End register when required.
- Coordinate with team members to maintain consistent floor coverage.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment by adhering to company policies, performing safety sweeps, and securing displays and fixtures.
- Stock shelves, perform merchandise picking and downstocking as needed, apply product protection measures, and set up modular displays including flex modulars and new shelf caps.
Compensation
The starting pay rate for this position begins at $17.75 per hour.
