Cloud and Infrastructure Solutions Architect - Presales Expert

Role Overview

We are seeking a Presales Cloud Solutions Architect to partner with pursuit teams, delivery subject matter experts, and leadership to design, architect, and implement complex customer transformation initiatives. This pivotal role functions as a lead technical expert in pre-sales, focusing on solution architecture for public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), hybrid cloud environments, and modernization of on-premises infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive consultative architecture and technical sales assistance for major customer engagements.
• Translate business objectives into viable, scalable, cost-efficient cloud and infrastructure solutions.
• Design architectural frameworks across public clouds (GCP, AWS, Azure), hybrid, and multi-cloud settings, including governance, automation, and operational models.
• Prepare detailed architectural documentation such as migration plans, bill of materials, and solution briefs.
• Lead interactive customer workshops, discovery meetings, and brainstorming sessions.
• Architect infrastructure modernization strategies covering servers, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), storage solutions, network security, backup, disaster recovery, operating systems, databases, middleware, and container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and champion migration approaches including re-hosting, re-platforming, code refactoring, and consolidation.
• Lead or contribute to proof-of-concepts and demonstrations to validate technical approaches.
• Build strong relationships with executive-level stakeholders to position strategic cloud adoption and modernization plans.
• Support proposal creation with technical and commercial components including cost optimization with cloud providers.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and contribute to responses for RFIs and RFPs.
• Publish thought leadership materials such as white papers and reference architectures to enhance the company's cloud & infrastructure portfolio.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Minimum eight years’ experience in systems integration with practical expertise in hybrid infrastructures.
• At least five years' experience as a solution architect, particularly in pre-sales, consulting, or similar roles focused on cloud and infrastructure modernization.

Technical Expertise

• Design and implementation expertise across public clouds (GCP, AWS, Azure, Oracle, IBM).
• Architectures integrating on-premises and cloud with hybrid models.
• Traditional infrastructure components including compute, virtualization, storage, networking, and security.
• High availability and disaster recovery design including multi-AZ and region failover strategies.
• Container orchestration platforms such as Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, AKS, EKS.
• Middleware and database modernization and sizing considerations.
• Automation and DevOps tools including Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Cloud security fundamentals encompassing identity, policies, and network security layers.
• Familiarity with cloud migration tools, orchestration platforms, governance, multi-cloud operations, and FinOps.
• Integration capabilities with third-party and independent software vendor technologies.

Soft Skills

• Proficient communication in both Arabic and English, verbal and written.
• Strong presentation skills tailored for both executive and technical audiences.
• Effective leadership and consultative engagement abilities.
• Comfort managing ambiguity, independently leading solutions, and collaborating across teams.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Professional certifications such as GCP Cloud Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Azure Architect certifications.
• Certifications from VMware, Cisco, Red Hat, or storage vendors.
• TOGAF or equivalent architecture framework certifications are advantageous.
