About the Role
DXC Technology's Insurance Software and BPS division supports insurers worldwide by modernizing and managing their core operations with industry expertise, advanced platforms, and AI-powered solutions. Serving Life & Annuity, Property & Casualty, and Specialty insurance sectors, ISB drives transformation in policy management, claims, billing, analytics, and digital engagement. As a Work Capacity Specialist, you will play a vital role in evaluating and managing workers' capacity for work and their entitlement to weekly compensation, ensuring decisions are reliable, evidence-backed, fair, and adhere to legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Make compliant work capacity determinations impacting weekly benefits based on legislation.
- Interpret and assess medical and vocational evidence to define work ability and suitable employment options.
- Communicate decisions clearly and ensure procedural fairness at every stage.
- Perform ongoing reviews, reassessments, and manage dispute escalation processes.
- Maintain robust governance, audit readiness, and compliance with regulations.
- Drive consistent and efficient decision-making aligned with organizational goals.
- Translate strategic plans into actionable work capacity and claims initiatives, monitoring their execution and quality.
- Identify process improvements to enhance decision quality, compliance, and claims performance.
- Support optimization of assessment workflows to reduce delays and improve efficiency and defensibility of decisions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement programs in collaboration with technical and improvement teams.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to colleagues and stakeholders to develop expertise in work capacity decisions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation, related regulations, and relevant guidelines.
- Familiarity with governing standards of practice and agent remuneration factors.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
- Highly developed organizational and self-management skills.
- Proactive approach with adaptability to change and continuous improvement mindset.
- Skilled in consultation, negotiation, and influencing others effectively.
- Innovative thinker with lateral problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills to assess information and make sound decisions.
- Relationship management and customer service orientation.
Education
A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, nursing, or a related discipline is preferred.
