About the Role
SoftwareOne is seeking a proactive Channel Business Development Manager to identify, engage, and secure new partner relationships that will drive growth throughout New Zealand. This position involves building a robust pipeline from the ground up by hunting for new business opportunities within a fast-paced, sales-driven environment. The role supports expanding the organization's partner ecosystem while contributing to broader cloud, software, cybersecurity, and digital transformation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Seek out, engage, recruit, and onboard channel partners across New Zealand.
- Lead outbound business development through prospecting, networking, cold outreach, and relationship management.
- Formulate partner business plans, establish governance structures, and create executive engagement strategies that underpin long-term expansion.
- Develop new market channels and nurture strategic partnerships to generate a qualified sales pipeline and revenue growth.
- Manage all stages of the partner lifecycle from engagement through onboarding and ongoing development.
- Maintain up-to-date market intelligence by monitoring industry trends, competitor movements, and emerging opportunities.
Candidate Requirements
- A strong hunter mindset with enthusiasm for establishing new business and partner connections.
- Proven experience in business development, channel or partner sales, technology sales, or customer acquisition.
- Comfortable with outbound prospecting tactics including cold calling, networking, pipeline building, and opportunity creation.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, managed services, software licensing, cybersecurity, or related IT solutions.
- Solid commercial insight and the ability to influence key stakeholders and cultivate strategic partnerships.
- Highly motivated, resilient, and committed to meeting growth and partner acquisition targets.
