Cafe Associate

Position Summary and Responsibilities

As a Cafe Associate, you will play an integral role in food preparation and customer service within our prepared food merchandise section. You will collaborate closely with team members, maintaining up-to-date knowledge on product specifications and cross-training others. Your tasks include preparing food items following exact specifications, planning for future and bulk production needs, and complying with all food safety, sanitation, and inventory protocols. You will operate and maintain equipment and have a solid grasp of product presentation and layout.

Utilizing digital tools is a key component of your role to enhance sales and the shopping experience. You'll use handheld technology to make prompt business decisions regarding production, orders, training, and product quality, encouraging your peers to do the same.

As an owner of your work area, you are responsible for stocking and rotating merchandise, ensuring quality control, minimizing waste, fulfilling customer requests including payment processing, and resolving member concerns professionally.

Additionally, you will act as a brand ambassador by fostering a respectful, supportive, and team-focused atmosphere, supporting training initiatives and helping resolve challenges faced by colleagues. Strict compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and the Open Door Policy is essential, along with effective communication, prioritization, and adaptability to feedback or business changes.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is between $17.00 and $25.00 per hour, at minimum meeting local wage requirements. Additional premiums may be awarded, ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, depending on schedule, facility, season, or specific tasks, potentially accumulating multiple premiums.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must agree to complete all mandatory job training and assessments within a designated timeframe
• Must be at least 18 years old

Preferred Qualifications

• Food Safety Certification/Food Handler Certification is preferred
