Job description

About the Company

We are collaborating with one of Australia's rapidly expanding AI technology firms to enhance its Melbourne-based commercial team. The company has engineered an AI-powered advertising platform that enables brands to create, launch, and optimize digital advertisements effortlessly at scale. This technology transforms campaign concepts and existing brand materials into hundreds of brand-consistent, performance-optimized ad variants within minutes. Additionally, it can publish ads directly on major advertising platforms, analyze their performance, and leverage insights to refine future creatives.

The business has demonstrated remarkable growth including a fivefold increase in ARR within six months, securing nearly $16 million in funding, attaining a valuation near $100 million, signing 300+ ecommerce brands across Australia and North America, generating over 280,000 digital ads, supporting more than $320 million in advertising spend, establishing partnerships with key advertising and ecommerce platforms, and expanding internationally with a growing footprint in the US.

Role Overview

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will act as one of the initial points of contact for potential customers. With a robust inflow of leads generated through the website, marketing efforts, and partnerships, your core responsibilities will include promptly engaging these prospects, assessing their needs, confirming their interest, and scheduling qualified product demos for Account Executives. While there is a steady supply of inbound leads, the role also requires proactively initiating conversations and uncovering additional opportunities.

You will benefit from direct mentorship by seasoned SaaS sales professionals, gaining expertise in qualifying leads, understanding client challenges, and articulating the commercial advantages of an AI advertising platform. High performers have clear prospects for rapid advancement, potentially moving into Account Executive roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promptly connect with inbound leads in a professional manner
  • Evaluate prospects based on their advertising activities, challenges, needs, and purchasing intent
  • Schedule quality product demonstrations for the Account Executive team
  • Reengage past leads and prospects who previously showed interest
  • Carry out targeted outbound outreach to ecommerce, marketing, and consumer brands
  • Engage with marketing managers, ecommerce leaders, performance marketers, and growth executives
  • Clearly communicate the platform’s value proposition and generate interest for detailed demos
  • Research target organizations and identify decision-makers
  • Ensure ongoing calling, emailing, and LinkedIn interactions
  • Manage follow-ups diligently to prevent promising leads from going cold
  • Accurately log all activities and prospect data within the CRM system
  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives to refine qualification and meeting setup
  • Provide feedback to Marketing regarding lead quality, messaging, and campaign results
  • Continuously expand knowledge about SaaS sales, AI, and digital advertising
  • Contribute positively to the growth and culture of the commercial team

Candidate Profile and Desired Traits

The ideal candidate will be driven, self-assured, and inspired to establish a lasting career in technology sales. Ambition and motivation are critical for success in this fast-paced environment.
