Role Overview
Join our Brisbane-based team as a Business Development Director specializing in Mining & Resources, focusing on Metals & Mining Operations. Your primary mission will be to drive the acquisition of new clients and expand existing business opportunities within this sector. You will act as a knowledgeable industry seller, leveraging insights on market trends and customer behaviors to engage and secure enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead new client acquisition efforts in the Mining & Resources industry to boost revenue.
- Identify and capitalize on untapped business opportunities within current or underdeveloped accounts.
- Devise and implement strategies to deepen account engagement with industry-specific approaches.
- Forge and maintain senior-level relationships with executives and VPs in Mining & Resources organizations.
- Utilize deep sector knowledge and emerging market trends to craft compelling client proposals.
- Manage the entire sales process from identifying prospects to closing deals.
- Consistently generate a healthy sales pipeline through focused outreach, marketing campaigns, and participation in industry events.
- Position the company’s digital transformation, data, cloud, and AI capabilities within the context of sector needs and challenges.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to offer tailored solutions that address client-specific issues in the sector.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, forums, and networking events to elevate brand awareness.
- Maintain rigorous pipeline oversight including forecasting and sales reporting.
Candidate Requirements
- Between 10 to 15 years of experience in IT sales or business development with a dedicated focus on Mining & Resources clients.
- Proven success in securing new clients and expanding business within existing accounts in the industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Mining & Resources sector dynamics, challenges, and transformation priorities.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multi-service and consulting engagements.
- Skill in building sales pipelines from the ground up and closing new business opportunities.
- Well-established network of contacts among Mining & Resources decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Proven track record engaging with executive-level stakeholders in large organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a relevant discipline.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and commercial judgement.
- Ability to thrive independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, and target-driven setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing connections with senior leaders at major Western Australian mining and resources firms.
- Background in selling digital transformation, data analytics, cloud solutions, or AI within asset-heavy industries.
- Knowledge of mining operations, resource supply chains, or environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities.
