Role Overview
We are in search of a highly proficient and detail-focused Data Quality Engineer specialized in automation to enhance our data engineering team. The successful candidate will possess substantial expertise in automating ETL processes, testing data warehouses, and leveraging cloud data services, as well as experience in test automation frameworks and continuous integration and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and run automated tests to verify ETL processes and data pipeline integrity.
- Conduct thorough end-to-end validation and reconciliation of data, including testing data warehouses and databases handling large data volumes.
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to define and execute test strategies ensuring data quality standards are upheld.
- Create scalable and reusable test automation frameworks using Python and SQL.
- Integrate automated testing procedures into CI/CD pipelines to maintain ongoing validation and delivery.
- Verify data transformation accuracy and completeness across cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Participate actively in Agile workflow events like sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 3.5 years of practical experience in Data Quality Engineering.
- Proficient experience in automating ETL and testing data warehouses or data lakes.
- Strong skills in SQL for validating data and creating test automation scripts.
- Competency in Python programming for writing scripts and developing test frameworks.
- Familiarity with one or more test automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud data services including Azure Data Factory and Databricks, AWS Glue, Lambda, Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
- Understanding of CI/CD tools and practices such as Jenkins, Git, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams and contributing effectively to iterative development.
- Upper-Intermediate or higher proficiency in English (B2 level minimum).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data observability or data quality tools like Great Expectations or Deequ.
- Basic awareness of data governance and metadata management principles.
- Certifications in cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience in testing big data environments.
Additional Information
Interview candidates are strongly encouraged to use headphones. This position follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week in the office. Job locations include Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, and Pune.
